Rustic Retreats History

21 years ago, I decided to realize my dream of living a better life. I wanted to live off-grid, and be as self-sufficient as possible. After looking at over 300 properties (my only criteria being water, land and seclusion) I came across 12 magical acres in the region of Murcia, nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Espuna mountains. It was here where Bagend was born.

The dream has now developed with even greater passion to incorporate many exciting ventures: yoga and meditation retreats, permaculture workshops, sustainable building workshops, earthbag dome building to name but a few.

Living Off the Grid

This beautiful site has so much to offer to so many. We have an organic vegetable garden, our own fresh mountain spring water, solar power throughout. We also enjoy a beautiful swimming pool, earthbag dome, hammocks scattered amongst the lemon groves and of course, the stunning yoga platform on the side of the mountain.

Our outdoor, solar-powered showers means if you like, you can shower under the stars. Not only that, but we have orange and lemon trees, and our tailormade pinewood meditation and relaxation cabin with views across the valley, and so much more!

To be able share what I have done at Bagend with others is a dream come true. Hoping they also fall in love with the natural beauty and wonderful energy of this special site.
