Lucy is from Norfolk, UK and trained in Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda in Spain in 2017 (Yoga Alliance Certified) and Swedish Full Body Massage. She uses elements from her training in Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda to aid restoring the body safely and creating deep relaxation and harmony. Her passion is to share the gift of yoga and help people use it to express themselves and find their happiness and balance.
For the last 7 years Lucy has taught in Schools as a Primary School Teacher and collaborated with a variety of organisations locally and internationally on various creative projects to promote wellbeing. She has taught in Sakti Yoga Studio in Frankfurt, Germany and created sessions and events for all; children, teens, families, special needs and the elderly in Health Centres and in the community in Norfolk, UK. She has shared yoga at private cooperate events and creates personalised sequences for clients in 1:1 sessions. Her passion is creating retreats in the wild, such as Yoga + Fire in the Woods to celebrate the Equinoxes and Solstices and Escape to the Country Eco Glamping Yoga Retreats.
She supports each student on their journey and ensures variations and adaptions for injuries, health conditions and physical limitations. Creating challenging and fun dynamic flows that enable you to connect movement with the breath and creates space for you to have your own experience and explore your awareness. Her programmes are suitable for beginners to advanced due to their positive, relaxed, welcoming, friendly nature. She creates gentle flows, with elements of relaxation and strengthening too catering for all abilities. She works with the Indian Vedic Health system that recognises the health states Pitta, Kapha, Vata, and balancing them through postures, breathing, everything, even down to what we eat.
Styles of yoga to be taught
Our morning sessions will be a dynamic offering of Elemental Hatha Yoga allowing us to explore the power and wisdom of Ayurveda and Chakras. We will have fun movement practices to create flow in our lives, tuning into our bodies and energy with intention, starting the year off in the right direction and learning how to move our bodies our way, with pleasure and joy.
We will be looking at the Indian Health System of Ayurveda, to balance the 3 energy states of Kapha (Earth and water), Pitta (Fire) and Vata (Air). Learning how to tune into the Chakra energy centres in the body and get in touch with our inner compass.
Evening sessions will be restorative, chilled out sunset practices of gentle slow Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra (Yogic Sleep) and Mindfulness Meditation. We will be using the support of blocks, straps and eye pillows.
To encourage rest, at the end of the day, we will practice Yoga Nidra to practice quieting the overactive conscious mind, slowing down brain waves and unwinding the nervous system. Using guided imagery, body scanning and meditation to aid relaxation, harmony and feelings of rejuvenation.
With Yin Yoga we will explore gradually, extending the depth of our yoga poses and length of time spent in them with ease and comfort, promoting our flexibility and stimulating our flow of energy, free from physical distractions. Then, Mindfulness Meditations, where we will learn to master the art of embracing the essential skills of mindful living, creating clarity, purpose, helping you to respond rather than to react, improving relationships, managing stress, anxiety and improving sleep.
Throughout the 6 days we will use the inspiration of the elements; Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether as we journey through the Chakras. Exploring the 4 Seasonal Archetypes, connecting to their style and which one we identify with. //
On Day 1 we will start grounding with Earth and discovering the parts of us that are ready to bloom. In Day 2 with Water we unblock, cleanse, purify and release old energy from the previous year. In Day 3 with Fire, we ignite our soul fuel and what we desire for 2019. Then Day 4, with Air, we create space, visualizing where there is darkness, tension, blocks in our mind and bodies, releasing old habits and patterns, and bringing light, energy and freedom. Lastly on Day 5 with Ether, we express ourselves with our voices, creating personal affirmations and mantras to keep us moving when we feel discouraged or want to stop and making shifts in our perspective.

Moon Mandala + Journaling Session: Earthing and reconnecting
As we prepare to dive into the retreat, we align with what's most important to us, set intentions, deeply listening as we write, returning home to ourselves, awakening our dreams and nurturing our spirit. What do we want from this retreat? What do we want to shift or change? What part of ourselves would we like to unleash or wake up? We will create our own Moon Mandala to observe and record our mind, body and emotional states throughout the retreat and can continue it throughout the next lunar month. Using this beautifully visual tool will enable us to create sacred space, to keep aligned to our true selves and sustain our own self care rituals.
Vision board Session: Going with our own flow
Creating a vision board with visuals and natural materials to learn our own unique self care formula. Through this process, taking time to love and nurture ourselves, stilling the voice in our heads in order to listen to the voice of our creativity more easily. Discovering tools to use anytime we feel confronted, overwhelmed or unsure to bring us back to our strength.
Fire Ceremony Mindfulness Preparation Walk
Going on a mindfulness silent (optional) walk around the grounds where we can journal and collect objects that we feel drawn to in preparation for the Fire Ceremony. These journal entries and objects can symbolise and explore what we are grateful for from the year, what we want to let go of this year and the wishes we want to manifest into the next year. Later, these objects and journal entries can be offered into the fire to burn away the stuck emotions, beliefs, blocks that are holding us back and invite in all that we desire to manifest into our lives.
Fire Ceremony (NYE)
In the Fire Ceremony we intentionally raise our vibrations, sharing what we are grateful for and lessons learnt. We let go of what no longer serves us. Bringing with us the feelings, thoughts and patterns that have been holding us back, old habits and stories. Making space to focus our intention on new dreams, wishes and what we want to create, invite in and manifest now and for the year ahead. We will then feed this to the flames in an offering, whilst our companions hold and share the space, allowing the deep, clearing, cleansing, purifying power of the fire to transform us all. Finishing with relaxation by the fire.
Soul Story Visualisation Journey: Creating Space to Share into the Air.
It's easy to feel alone in our journey but when we share our stories we find the lessons within to create connection with others and the world we live in. Through the language of myth, symbols, archetypes and astrology we will go on a journey to find 3 different soul stories and the messages and medicine they hold for us now.
Medicine Wheel Mandala Making Session: Expressing ourselves into the Ether
Tuning into the energy cycles of the earth’s Seasonal Medicine Wheel we creatively explore and learn the wisdom of each step in the cycle. Tapping into the energy of the Solstices and Equinoxes we will create our own Medicine Wheel for the year ahead. Through this intentional creative process, we access both right and left sides of our brains when planning and making decisions.
