Namaste and hello, I’m Iva, a yogi, dancer, and food-enthusiast from Prague. I am here on planet Earth to share and care, indulge in a bit of traveling, a lot of music, dancing, singing, drawing, healthy food and tons of other things.......and I just love to share all that as much as I possibly can.
As a yoga teacher, I am always tender and a bit goofy. I believe in honest exploring, taking care and being with what is. When we do yoga together, you’ll get that safe space you’ve been craving for, plenty of time to explore, discover, listen, and then really listen, and then take care from the right place.
I got to yoga initially through dancing. I studied this beautiful art in Los Angeles whilst training to be a professional dancer, visiting Yoga for dancers classes. During one of these classes we were asked a question „What is truly worth your time?“ and immediately I thought „This. Doing this. Sharing this. This is it.“ and since then, yoga has absolutely turned my life around - my body, head and heart included.
I returned to LA 3 years ago to study my first Yoga Teacher Training and immediately fell in love with Iyengar and restorative yoga. I have always been drawn to helping people recover, feel better and find their own way to well-being. Since then, I have trained in India, one multistyle and one focused purely on Yoga Therapy. I have also studied Ayurveda and Trigger Point Therapy.
Yoga for me is a chance to get closer to our real self. Not the one we would like to be, not the one we're trying to be for someone else, but the true and genuine self that dwells within and connects us all together. Yoga is a practice, a path, a way of life, a tool, and in its deeper sense, it's a very internal experience of connection, rather than the usual illusionary disconnection with everything and everyone around us. I will always be there for you when you go looking for that connection. I will give you that time and space needed for that to happen.

Hi, my name is Zuzana, but you can also call me Zazou :-)
I'm from Prague, but for nearly 10 years I was living in Greece and Cyprus, where I've experienced my very first yoga class on the rocks by the sea. It felt like I found a missing piece (and peace) and since then I've (almost) never looked back.
Apart from yoga I'm interested in neuroscience, self development and hypnotherapy. I'm an early riser and my favorite time of the day is the magical 5AM, when I usually salute the sun, write in my journal and read a book.
I absolutely cannot wait to meet you all in person on the mat!
Style of Yoga to be taught
You can expect a slow, gentle style of yoga throughout the whole retreat. Mornings will be dedicated to a gentle Asana practice based on Hatha or Yoga Therapy. In the evenings, you will mainly experience Restorative Yoga (a complete release thanks to props) or pure meditation and relaxation.
As for the physical part, the main focus will be on therapeutic movement and poses, using props, developing flexibility or stability where needed and finding deep release of stress and tension from the body. We will also study helpful cleansing and breathing techniques to get rid of toxins and to restart the whole system.
We will also go way beyond the physical. There will be a lot of breathing, awareness and meditation. I will bathe you in the sound of tibetan singing bowls and mantras, guide you into deep relaxation in Yoga Nidra („yogic sleep“). We will let out some serious sighs and embrace the relief.
Your Rustic Retreats journey
True healing comes from within. Our daily yoga and meditation practice will naturally guide us into a deep sense of release, enabling us to begin the recovery process from the right place. There will be valuable space and time in our daily workshops for self-reflection, self-acceptance and transformation of the energy which is no longer serving us into something we can truly use for our own growth.
To understand how yoga can help us both on and off the mat, we will use these workshops to dive into the amazing yogic principles of Yamas (restraints) and Niyamas (disciplines). These are the first two steps in Patanjali’s eightfold path of Yoga, teaching us how to take care of ourselves and how to relate to other people. They are very helpful when it comes to healing and recovery, as they bring us closer to our true selves, and eventually to a more balanced, joyful state of well-being.
In each of the workshops, we focus on specific Yamas and Niyamas, expanding our awareness, carefully noticing the world outside as well as the inner one. We will use many tools to balance it all out and to embrace change and transformation as a crucial part of the healing process.

Your workshop programme
becoming aware (Satya, Svadhyaya)
As a first step, we will actually stop and take time to notice, observe mindfully and listen, being absolutely swallowed by the beauty of all the colours, textures and shapes around you - and within you! The Niyama called Svadhyaya (self-study) will guide us to study the true nature of our being and the world around us. Satya (truthfulness) will then help us lift our own illusions and excuses to see who we truly are, aligned with what we think, say and do. What patterns do we keep holding on to? Which of them are truly helpful and leading to our growth? Which of them are no longer serving us?
accepting (Ahimsa, Santosha)
After seeing what’s there, we will use various techniques to accept it.... a crucial step on the way to transform and heal! Using the Yama called Ahimsa (non-violence), we will discover the unlimited source of compassionate love and acceptance that we all carry within our hearts and turn it towards our own selves. Is there anything holding us back when it comes to self-love? Do we repeatedly try to fulfill other people’s expectations or do we truly follow our own heart-felt path? What do we find difficult to accept about our own self and others?
Learning to love and fully accept all that we are will open us up for the next step - lovingly and gratefully accepting who and whatever is surrounding us at the moment (the Niyama of Santosha, contentment). We will celebrate this energy with a movement workshop, to help us accept, love and cherish our body and the freedom of our self-expression.
From this space of unconditional love and acceptance, a healthy choice can be made and a true transformation can happen with effortless ease.
finding an intention (Asteya, Brahmacharya)
What do you want? What do you REALLY want? What is it that is truly important? What is worth your time and effort?
If I said that you can have absolutely anything your heart desires what would you choose? The universe is a field of unlimited possibilities. All you need to meet your desires is awareness, intention, silence and letting go of your own doubts and limitations. The next step on our healing journey will be all about intentions.
With the help of visualisations, intuitive drawing and two Yamas – Asteya (non-stealing) and Brahmacharya (non-indulgence), we begin placing our true intention. Both Yamas will show us where to look for true values and where our energy (and attention) is being wasted. Both of these Yamas will help us understand where we truly want to go and how much we can get by giving back to the world.
transforming (Saucha, Tapas)
You have probably heard it: life is change and change is life. Everything in our material world is changing constantly. When we stop struggling against it and truly embrace change in our lives, we can finally start living in the moment, care-free. Right here and right now.
For that to happen with ease, we call upon two incredibly powerful Niyamas – Saucha (cleanliness) and Tapas (self-discipline). In this workshop, we will invite transformation into our lives and learn a couple of yogic cleansing techniques. That, together with the Niyamas, will help us greatly to cleanse ourselves from old habits, toxins, negative thoughts, attachments or patterns we keep coming back to even though we know they’re limiting us.
To truly heal, to truly recover on all levels of your being, you need to rid yourself of all of these things. But don’t worry, we will take it step by step. That’s Tapas – a continuous practice that burns all that negative stuff away. The transformation is what gives us power, energy and vitality. After that, healing comes naturally.
letting go (Aparigraha, Ishwara Pranidhana)
The final step on our journey is to heal, renew and recover. We will practice this extremely important part of the process through a series of writing and visualisation exercises, singing healing mantras and a transformational fire ceremony. Whatever we have become aware of during the week, whatever intentions we have set, we will cast it all into the flames and let the universe work out the details.
With the help of Aparigraha (detachment) and Ishwara Pranidhana (surrender), we will let go of the results, of any expectations of the outcome, of all the clinging and holding and grabbing. We will learn how to trust the universe- it knows what it’s doing, even when we don’t. When we do that, we will finally find the true release on all levels of our being. And that’s when the magic happens.
