A magical week of elemental energies:
During your retreat each day focuses on a different element (Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space).
Starting the day you will be guided through energising solar yoga practice of dynamic (poses flowing from one into the other) and static asana (postures held while focusing on the breath), pranayama (breath work) combined with seated and movement meditations. Music and sound also feature highly in these sessions.Throughout the day the optional workshops build on the focus of the day and in the evening I'll guide you through more lunar, healing, restorative yoga, meditation or yoga nidra (deep relaxation). All of these practices are suitable for all levels of experience and tailored to suit your needs.
I aim to create a sacred, nourishing and nurturing space where, in tuning into the earth's very own energies we may develop self-awareness and discover our personal healing elements.

What type of yoga do I teach?
I'm a British Wheel of Yoga teacher trained in traditional hatha yoga which is the style of yoga which underpins many of today's teaching styles.
The yoga I teach is kept simple and slow with focus on linking breath and movement to increase inner awareness. For beginners, this allows time and space to learn and understand. For more experienced practitioners this gives opportunity to deepen our practice and delve more deeply in to the subtle aspects of our practice. My classes incorperate simple mantra and philosophy as well as physical postures.

Having spent much time at the Mandala Yoga Ashram in Wales I have experienced the healing power of periods of Mouna (silence). During your week there will be opportunity to practice periods of silence on a voluntary basis. Read more here: Mouna (Silence)

Your workshop programme:
Day 1: (Earth Element Yoga practice)
Workshop (am): Grounding Introduction from Becky to working with the elements and the associated chakras. In keeping with Earth/ Muladhara Chakra connection,take a guided walk in nature. Alternative is if Elliot has any garden work to do, that people could practice 'mindful' gardening. Opportunity to work or walk together, bonding time part of grounding.
Day 2: (Water Element Yoga practice)
Workshop: Cultivating Creativity. Discussion and any questions from morning practice, Creative drawing, sketching or painting in watercolours. Alternative option of 'mindful' creative cooking/food preparation.
Day 3: (Fire Element Yoga Practice am)
Workshop: Deepen Knowledge. Self-knowledge and personal power are associated with Manipura Chakra/Fire element and learning increases self-knowledge and knowledge is power!! Becky can introduce some basic Yoga Philosophy (including Patanjali yoga sutra, Bhagavad Gita) and answer any questions. Alternatively sunbathing also helps nourish the fire element!
Day 4: (Air Element Yoga Practice am)
Workshop: Opening the heart. Visiting (another) local place of beauty to experience chanting OM in pairs back to back. Loving Kindness meditation. Alternatively it may also be a time for quiet reflection (even silent if people would like to try a period of Mouna)
Day 5: (Space Element Yoga Practice am)
Workshop: Nada Yoga (Yoga of sound). An introduction to Mantra and chanting. Using our voice to balance the throat Chakra. Listen to mantra and learn, chant and experience the effect of a common Mantra. e.g. Gayatri Mantra. Alternatively meaningful conversation to each other also balances Vishuddhi chakra.
Hi, I'm Becky! I've been practising yoga for 15 years and teaching classes since 2011.
I trained for over 3 years with the British Wheel of Yoga, which has given me a solid teaching and Hatha yoga base, however much influence comes from my personal practice of Jivamukti Yoga and Prana Vinyasa Flow®, developed by Shiva Rea, with whom I've been lucky to carry out may more hours of teacher training.
What truly inspires me is our deep connection with our planet Earth. Having experienced first hand how stressful life can become as a result of losing touch with our roots, I've been investigating how reconnecting with the rhythms of nature can allow great transformation and healing to take place.
On this retreat I would like to share with you yoga practices (Asana, pranayama, seated and movement meditations and workshops) aimed at tuning in and restoring our personal natural essence.
